Night Makeup Tips

During night outings all the lighting that is around us is artificial. Artificial light lowers the intensity of color. So when it comes time to apply evening makeup we should apply more intensely. When it comes to applying evening makeup we should keep in mind the lighting in which we will be surrounded in. For evening makeup we can use dark colors and bright textures to achieve a more glamorous and sophisticated look.

Shine with your own light, so you won’t be left in the dark. Conquer the darkness by using shimmery colors that are translucent and show your skin off. The most stellar color these days is gold, not only in makeup, but in clothing and acessories as well. Lighting is very important because it is one the main factors in your ending results in evening makeup looks.

If we are looking to apply day makeup this will be in softer tones, natural, and of fine texture. The light of the day will reveal any excesses in makeup use. We look for naturalness.

The importance of preparing the skin

Before starting to apply makeup we will apply a cream foundation. This could be a moisturizing base or a foundation base that we can mix with a flash of beauty for those more special ocassions. We will let the skin rest a few minutes so that the products can properly absorb.
Correct Imperfections

Any problems with pigmentation are worked out before your foundation. If imperfections such as discolorations, pimples, etc, we will cover with a opaque paste textured concealor. We will use a more natural and fluid concealor for the contours of the eyes. Using a thicker concealor on the eye will result in accentuating the expression lines.

We can use the same fluid concealor (in a lighter shade than the skin tone) to soften features that tend to age a woman.

Incorporate a Foundation

We will find a huge variety of foundations on the market today. These will be in different textures and different coverages: for mature skin, oily skin, etc. We will choose one according to the necessities of the particular skin.
A touch of Health

If we want to give a fresh aspect to the skin we can use a cream blush. This is applied before blending in the foundation. The cream textured blush is ideal for mature skin and dry skin.
Set makeup naturally. We will set the foundation with a translucent powder to give the skin a natural look and feel that isn’t too matte. Apply the translucent powder with a brush using soft strokes. If you want to add more color we will apply a bronzer in powder to the face, neck and chest. That way we will achieve a more uniform color that matches the body.

The Protagonists: The Eyes

On the eyelids we will utilize a base eyeshadow in a light tone. With the dark color you have chosen we will line the eye. We will use taupe to outline the lower lashline of the eye. We will also apply this same shade to the root of the lashline, blending up into the eye crease. Making this the focal point and marking the point of intensity.

The point of intensity is an imaginary point you will get when you cross an imaginary line formed by the lower line of the eye with the eye socket itself. We will go over the lashline once more to achieve a more intense look. We can apply this line with a lighter shade to achieve a gradual change in color. If we want to “enlarge” the eye we can lightly draw the liner on the lower lashline or none at all.

Scandalous Eyelashes

We will abundantly apply mascara to the eyelashes. Eliminate any clumps with a clean eyelash brush and define the eyelashes. If you want to achieve the “wide eye” look do not apply mascara to lower lashes. This will give the eye a more open, rounded look. The eyebrows give much expression to the face, so we will clean them up if needed. We will fill in any gaps in the brow and extending them if needed.

And lastly sensual lips

When we apply lipliner we will blend it onto the lips. Then we will apply the lip color in the same shade. The lipliner should not be visible after applying the lip color.
